Traktor s2 mk2 lighting11/12/2023 As soon as I ran this update, it worked just fine. Instead, I had to run the version from 2015 (1.2.0) - which was seemingly the same UI and everything, except this time it said my firmware was out of date and the latest version was "27". Obviously a big green "Up to date" bar is shown when firmware >= latest. But if you look closer, you might notice that your firmware (or mine at least) was version 23 and the latest was "0". You might even be encouraged when you run it and see that your firmware is up to date. You might logically think that the latest one would be the one you should run. More details: they have two "Device Updater" tools for Windows listed for the Traktor Kontrol S2. I think post was helpful in at least encouraging me that it might not be broken and I kept trying. Thanks again, I'm going to try a bunch of installations/rebooting/whatever and report back :)Īfter days of trying, dozens of forum posts read, and several setup videos watched, I finally figured it out (no help from any of those resources unfortunately). Long story short: the only way I saw drivers get installed with the installation of Traktor Pro was either through a not-so-official version of v3 or through the v2 update through Native Access (which didn't give me the option of WHICH ones to install). Their v3 demo (which is v3.11.8) didn't prompt for drivers either, but a v3.0.1 that I acquired elsewhere did have a driver prompt during the installation - only problem was they only had S2 Mk2 drivers, no Mk1. But if I run Native Access, it has an update available which ends up installing all their drivers (which makes removing it a pain in the ass because I have to uninstall about a dozen separate driver installations). The latest demo that they offer of v2 doesn't seem to prompt me for drivers during the installation. Curious, what version of the Traktor software were you using? 2 or 3? And was yours a S2 Mk1, also? I only rebooted once, maybe I'll try a few combinations of uninstalling/rebooting/reinstalling/rebooting/etc. I did read something similar on an NI forum post about some folks reinstalling it and rebooting a few times and it finally worked. I have tried several combinations of updates / installations (even a few non-demo versions that NI may not be happy about me trying). I would think if it was broken, it wouldn't be seen by Windows or their Control Panel tool. From what I can tell, Windows AND their own diagnostic tool sees it online, but the Traktor software doesn't (which is kinda important). So am I missing something? Is there something special that needs to be done for the Traktor Pro software to see that it's plugged in? I am willing to purchase the software, but only after I can confirm the device works. I've also tried it with a 12volt/2-amp power adapter (device says it accepts 9 to 20 volt DC) - but from what I've seen, that shouldn't be necessary. I've tried it with and without a powered USB hub (everything says don't use a hub, except their troubleshooting doc which says DO use a powered hub). In Traktor Pro 3 & 2 I can manually add a Controller for the Traktor Kontrol S2 (or any of their devices, for that matter), but under In-Port there is only the option for "None". If I run Traktor Kontrol S2 Control Panel, it shows that it's plugged in and I can click the "Start" button under System Performance Test and it seems to be able to communicate with the device. Before I installed the drivers, it would show as an unknown device, which now is no longer the case. Device Manager shows a few Traktor devices under various groups in the hardware list. Windows DOES recognize that it's plugged in (since installing the drivers). I've installed Traktor Pro 3 demo and Traktor 2 demo, neither of which recognize that anything is plugged in. After installing the drivers, which I downloaded from native instruments website, I can plug it into USB, turn it on, and the lights cycle in a "powering on" kinda way, but afterwards only the USB light is illuminated with an orange color. I acquired a Traktor Kontrol S2 (Mk 1 I believe) second hand.
